Dr. Jong Ahn Chun from the APEC Climate
Center (APCC) contributed as an author to the
 UNESCO-published book ‘The Water-Ener-
gy-Food Nexus Approach in Asia and the Pa-
cific,’ which is part of the ‘Water Security in a
 New World’ series.

 Recently, the water-energy-food (WEF) nexus
 approach has garnered significant attention
as a cornerstone for achieving sustainable de-
 velopment.
Effective policy decisions and governance re-
quire a comprehensive understanding of the
 intricate interconnections among these three
 critical elements.

Moreover, the increasing economic integration in Asia and the Pacific—regions highly vul-
nerable to climate change—has underscored the necessity of conducting nexus-based anal-
 yses at the regional scale.
Addressing challenges related to water, energy, and food security through this approach is
 critical for developing sustainable solutions.
