Executive Director Do-Shick Shin from the APEC Climate Center (APCC) met Dr. Luteru Tauvale, Principal Scientific Officer of the Samoa Meteorological Service, on May 31, 2023, at the APCC Building. They discussed the future joint plan to respond to the climate crisis.
And then Dr. Luteru Tauvale and Mr. Silipa Mulitalo, Scientific Officer – Weather of the Samoa Meteorological Service, met the APCC researchers who were participating in the programme titled "Enhancing Climate Information and Knowledge Services for Resilience in 5 Island Countries of the Pacific Ocean". That programme was initiated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF). They had the opportunity to introduce both institutes and try to find climate crisis response projects in which both institutes can cooperate in the future.
