The APEC Climate Center (APCC) virtually held the “2021 APCC Climate Information Services Introductory Workshop” on 5 November 2021.

This workshop aimed to promote the use of APCC’s climate prediction and information services in Korea and to effectively increase the utilization capacity of climate information. Around 30 university (graduate) students interested in the field of climate information production and utilization participated in the workshop.

The workshop consists of two sessions. On the first session of the workshop, APCC researchers gave the presentation about APCC climate prediction system and reliable long-term forecasting methods and techniques based on climate monitoring and analysis of observational data. And then, they also introduced to participants the latest research and achievements of ‘Temperature Prediction Using Machine Learning’.

On the final session, the participants had a chance to learn how to use the ‘Climate Information Service Platform’(http://cliks.apcc21.org), which allows climate information users to select and utilize a wider variety of climate data.
