The APEC Climate Center held the 2025 Young Scientist Support Program (YSSP 2025) from September 3 to 30, 2025, in Haundae, Busan Metropolitan City, by inviting 4 operational climate forecasters from meteorological agencies in the Pacific Small Island Developing States (SIDs). 

APCC is currently participating as a technical partner in the programme 'Enhancing Climate Information and Knowledge Services for Resilience in 5 island countries of the Pacific Ocean (hereafter UNEP CIS-Pac5)", initiated by the UN Environment Programme and financially supported by Green Climate Fund (GCF). The 5 Pacific SIDs are the Cook Islands, Niue, Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), and Tuvalu.

The training program is organized under the UNEP CIS Pac5 Project (GCF FP 147), with the overarching goal of strengthening technical capacity to enhance the consideration and use of research and other evidence in decision-making, thereby supporting the integration of climate change adaptation into long-term strategies.
