Dr. Sunkwon Yoon, a Research Fellow in the Climate Research Department of the APEC Climate Center (APCC) will give a presentation at the 6th Conference of the Asia Pacific Association of Hydrology and Water Resources on 19-21 August, 2013. The meeting will take place at Korea University in Seoul.

The conference will be attended by hydrologists, water scientists, engineers, and other professionals from the Asia-Pacific region and around the world. This international conference is a valuable opportunity for Korean hydrology and water professionals to communicate and share their knowledge and experiences with their foreign counterparts. The theme for this year’s conference is “Climate Change and Water Security”, with 5 sub-themes (listed below).

Theme 2: Hydrology for sustainability

Theme 3: Integrated water resources management

Theme 4: Water –related disasters and hydrological change

Theme 5: Water policy and institutional issues

Dr. Yoon is one of the Scientific Committee members of the Asia Pacific Association of Hydrology and Water Resources. He will present his research in a poster session and an oral session at the conference. During the Climate Change Assessment and Water Management poster session, he will present on “Urban Flood Risk Assessment under Conditions of Climate change”, as the lead author. He is also one of the contributing authors for a project on “Typhoon-induced rainfall variability in Korea during CT/WP El Nino years”, which will be presented during the 3rd oral session.
