APEC Climate Center(APCC) held a Young Scientist Support Program 2024 (YSSP 2024) from May 30, 2024, to June 28, 2024 (30 days) by inviting 5 YSSP 2024 participants from 5 Small Island Developing States in the Pacific to Haundae, Pusan Metropolitan City.
APCC is currently participating as a technical partner in the programme “Enhancing Climate Information and Knowledge Services for Resilience in 5 island countries of the Pacific Ocean(hereafter UNEP CIS-Pac5)”, initiated by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). The 5 Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Pacific are the Cook Islands, Niue, Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), and Tuvalu.
The training is being organized under the UNEP CIS Pac5 project (GCF FP147), with the overarching goal of strengthening technical capacity for increased consideration and use of research and other evidence in decision making, so as to support facilitating the integration of climate change adaptation into long term strategies.
Through this comprehensive and action oriented program, APCC will be training participants on how to access, collect, and process climate data, for a better understanding of the impacts of climate.
