The APEC Climate Center has implemented a training course on “Fostering Experts in Agriculture Water Development and Management for Climate Change Adaptation” with KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) and KRC (Korea Rural Community Corporation) for 13 public officials working in the agricultural water field of 7 developing countries in Asia. These included Laos, Cambodia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Philippines, and Myanmar.

The Training Course on Fostering Experts was held in an international conference room, LOTUS, in the headquarter of APCC, Busan, from 23rd to 26th October. The course was implemented as a part of a project supporting developing countries in Asia with KOICA and KRC from 12nd October to 2nd November.

The training course had three major outcomes. Firstly, to foster experts in the field of agricultural water resources, participants were taught about various technologies and techniques available for the management of agricultural water resources, such as national agricultural water management information systems. Secondly, it expanded participants' understanding about Korea's climate change status and climate change response system and policy. This gave participants insights on the development of policies for securing and managing agricultural water resources, helping promote effective action against climate change in their countries. Finally, the training program promoted an international human network for action against climate change in developing countries in Asia.
