오지현 박사가 지난 10월 1일 APEC 기후센터(APEC Climate Center, APCC) 기후분석팀에 입사했다. 오지현 박사는 서울대학교 지구환경과학부 대기과학 전공으로 석사를 마치고 2012년 동대학교에서 “통계적 접근방식과 모델링 실험에 근거한 동남아지역(Maritime Continent)상에서의 계절내진동(MJO)과 일변화 간의 상호작용(Interaction between the MJO(Madden Julian Oscillation) and the diurnal cycle over the Maritime continent on the basis of statistical approach and modeling experiment)”에 관한 연구논문으로 박사학위를 취득했다.
오지현 박사는 2012년부터 2015년까지 플로리다 주립대학교(Florida State University), UCLA(Joint Institute for Regional Earth System Science and Engineering, JIFRESSE) 그리고 남가주 대학교(University of Southern California)에서 박사 후 연구원(Postdoctoral Researcher)으로 근무했다.
오지현 박사의 연구 주관심사는 “계절내진동(MJO)”과 “엘니뇨-남방진동(ENSO: El Nino-Southern Oscillation)”과 같은 적도대기현상(tropical atmospheric phenomena)이다. APEC 기후센터에서 앞으로 오지현 박사는 이전의 풍부한 연구경험을 활용하여 계절내 진동의 아시아·태평양지역에 대한 영향을 심도깊게 연구하고자 한다.
