I 2018 Final Workshop for Climate-Related Agricultural-risk Management System (CREAMS)
The APEC Climate Center conducted a collaborative research project with IRI on climate risk management for rain-fed lowland in Lao PDR since 2017. Upon the request of National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute (NAFRI) of Lao PDR, APCC has developed a decision support system utilizing climate information and crop model, so-called Climate-Related Agricultural-risk Management System (CREAMS). At this final workshop, the system was delivered to NAFRI officially and capacity building training was given in order to help facilitate the appropriate use of the system for NAFRI staff. Overall research outcomes were shared to help optimize management and forecast of rice yield in Lao PDR.
