The Climate Information Services for Resilient Development Planning in Vanuatu (Van CIS-RDP) project is a project funded by the Green Climate Fund, implemented by the Vanuatu Meteorological & Geohazard Department (VMGD) and Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) in partnership with APCC, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BoM). The project seeks to support climate resilient development through the development, communication and application of Climate Information and Services and will be implemented from 2017 to 2022.
The purpose of the Expert Workshop on IRI Climate Data Tools was to gain information on the International Research Institute for Climate and Society’s (IRI) lessons learned through the Enhancing National Climate Services (ENACTS) project in various countries, and to gain information and hands-on training on the IRI Climate Data Tools (CDT) software, which can be incorporated into aspects of the Vanuatu Climate Services for Agriculture (VaCSA) software.
