The purpose of the APCC-PAGASA Regional Prediction System (APCC-PRePS) project was to increase the overall capacity of the PAGASA staff through the installation of a RegCM model on the High Performance Computing Facility in PAGASA to deliver seasonal prediction information in the Philippines and through capacity building activities. The activities under this project were funded by Advance Solutions, Inc. (ASI) through the “Supply, Delivery, Installation, Testing, Supervision, Training and Commissioning of PAGASA Climate Forecast Computing System” Purchase Order No. 2018-032 PB issued by PAGASA.

The Capacity Building Workshop for PAGASA in APCC served to provide insights into the results of the research conducted on predictability in the Philippines, as well as an introduction to RegCM, S2S, and BSISO real-time forecasts and its impact on the Philippines.
