The APEC Climate Center (APCC) held the virtual APCC Working Group Meeting 2021 on 15 October, 2024 with 8 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Member Economies.

At the APCC Working Group Meeting 2024 (hereinafter referred to as the "Working Group Meeting"), APCC presented its research and project activities for 2024. The Member Countries of Working Group Meeting shared updates on the operation status of each country’s early warning systems for climate variability, including the ENSO alert system, and discussed the utilization of APCC climate information. In addition, APCC and the Member Countries of Working Group Meeting discussed potential collaboration on the development and operation of early warning systems for climate variability.

APCC plans to gather feedback from the meteorological agencies of APEC member economies of Working Group Meeting, regarding the use of its climate prediction and services. Based on this feedback, APCC aims to make improvements and enhance user satisfaction with climate information services related to monitoring and responding to extreme weather events in the Asia-Pacific region. This will be achieved through close collaboration with member economies to improve climate prediction capabilities and the use of forecast information.
